Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease affecting about 230 million people worldwide. Patients with AD are classified into two endotypes, namely, extrinsic and intrinsic AD. Whereas T helper 1 (TH1), TH17, and TH22 polarization differs between AD endotypes, a strong TH2 axis is associated with both extrinsic and intrinsic AD.

In particular, interleukin-4 (IL-4) and IL-13 are produced at elevated levels in the lesional skin and are central regulators of many of the hallmark features of AD, including epidermal hyperplasia, skin barrier dysfunction, and production of eosinophil and T cell chemokines. The importance of IL-4, IL-13, and their associated receptors in AD is best exemplified by the ongoing pursuit to pharmacologically target these cytokines and/or their signaling components in AD.

Asset shows tight binding to IL-4Rα. High inhibition effect of asset onCD23 production and TF-1 cell proliferation mediated by either IL-4 or IL-13 in human PBMCs was comparable to dupilumab.

Initiated a Phase II trial in China to evaluate moderate-to-severe adult AD patients(2022 Q3).

Plan to initiate Phase III clinical trials in moderate-to-severe AD patients or explore other indications.
